Mike's photography is in polar position

The silhouetted mother bear keeps watch.
Club members who read Amateur Photography will be delighted to see that our very own Mike Morley has a double page of images.

The spread will give everyone a flavour of what we can expect from his forthcoming talk on a seven-day trip to Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic.

He was with acclaimed wildlife photographer Andy Rouse and his most memorable moment was capturing on camera a mother polar bear with her two six-month-old cubs.

Me and my shadow ... the two
six-month old cubs.
The magazine, which described the images as 'fantastic' and gave them Photo of the Week statusgoes on sale on Tuesday 15 October.

Mike Morley: no
stranger to success.
And, here at Knaresborough Camera Club, we know a thing or two about quality photography – one of the images from Mike's trip has already made our October Image of the Month and can be seen here

Mike is no stranger to Amateur Photographer having won prizes in the past for the quality of his work.

The latest images earned him a Photo of the Week prize of a tripod head. More of his work can be seen at flickr.com/photos/mikemorleyphotos

A final image marking the end of a hugely productive photographic trip.
